What We Do
WHO's services focus on engaging residents, creating
affordable housing opportunities and providing resources for homeowners.
Since its inception, WHO has served residents of the Westside and affiliated
neighborhoods through direct investments of more than $30 million dollars
in its communities. WHO's community impact includes:
- Construction of 87 houses in the urban
core;
- Home buyer counseling and assistance with
down payments, closing costs and financing;
- Construction and/or rehab of 160 units
of multi-family housing;
- Management of low-income housing tax credit
and elderly housing developments;
- One-on-one service to more than 1,500 homeowners
through construction oversight and loans and grants to achieve home
improvements; and
- Redevelopment of the city's worst public
housing project with construction of 10 single-family homes and 120
mixed-income apartments and town-homes.
